Class overview:

We do lots of fun “hands-on” learning including our exciting outdoor learning sessions. The learning in Hedgehog class is based on a range of activities, some of which are child initiated and some are adult led.

For children in Year One we follow the national curriculum, planning our work around active learning including some continuous provision.

For reception children we follow the seven curriculum areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage:

  • Mathematics
  • Literacy
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

We follow the children’s interests to lead our learning journeys.

Our theme for the Autumn 1 is “Unique Somerset”.

We use Class Dojo so parents can see all of the exciting activities we do each week at school and they can also comment and add their own photographs and achievements from home.
