A nurturing village school where every child is valued and can flourish
Welcome to Butleigh Church of England Primary School — a beautiful small village school set in the Somerset countryside. With our stunning grounds, including a pond and Forest School area, children benefit from rich opportunities to learn, explore and thrive. We educate children from 2 to 11 years, supporting them from nursery through to their transition to secondary school.
We are proud of our warm and inclusive community, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. Working closely with families, staff and governors, we nurture the whole child and create a caring environment where everyone feels supported. We are also proud to be part of the PPAT Education Trust, working collaboratively to provide the very best opportunities for our pupils.
Our vision — to aspire to be our best selves by living, learning and growing together in God’s love — guides everything we do. Through a broad and engaging curriculum, we develop children’s knowledge, curiosity and creativity, while encouraging them to achieve their full potential.
Our Christian ethos underpins school life, promoting values such as kindness, respect, courage, perseverance, cooperation, and truth and forgiveness. These help our children grow into confident, compassionate and responsible individuals.
We also value our strong links with the local community, St Leonard’s Church, and our partnership with St Peter’s in Kenya.
Our Butleigh Brilliance expectations encourage children to:
- Be kind
- Be respectful
- Be safe
- Be ready
I warmly invite you to explore our website or visit us to experience our welcoming and vibrant school first-hand. If you would like to arrange a tour, please do get in touch — we would be delighted to welcome you.
