Class overview:
Learning in Hedgehog Class is lively, engaging and hands-on. Children are encouraged to explore, investigate and learn through a wide range of activities, including regular outdoor learning sessions. Our approach balances child-initiated learning with carefully planned adult-led activities to support curiosity, confidence and independence.
Children in Year One and Year Two follow the National Curriculum, with learning planned around active approaches and supported by elements of continuous provision.
Children in Reception follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which covers seven areas of learning:
- Communication and Language
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Children’s interests play an important role in shaping learning opportunities, helping to make their learning relevant and meaningful.
