Remote Learning

At Butleigh Church of England Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child can continue their learning if they are unable to attend school in person. Remote learning helps children stay connected to their education, maintain progress and remain engaged with their class and teachers.

When remote learning is required, teachers will provide work through Google Classroom, enabling pupils to access lessons, activities and resources from home. Learning will be tailored to the age and needs of the children and may include a combination of teacher-prepared lessons, recorded explanations, practical activities and independent tasks.

To support learning across the curriculum, children may also be directed to a range of online resources, including:

  • Google Classroom for accessing learning activities and communicating with teachers
  • Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) for practising multiplication facts
  • NumBots for developing number fluency and confidence in mathematics
  • Accelerated Reader (AR) to encourage regular reading and monitor comprehension
  • Read Write Inc. online resources to support phonics and early reading
  • Oak National Academy lessons and resources to provide additional curriculum support where appropriate

We recognise the importance of maintaining regular communication with families and will provide support where needed to help children access learning from home. Our aim is to ensure that learning remains consistent, engaging and accessible for all pupils.

If your child is unable to access remote learning resources, please contact the school so that we can discuss alternative arrangements and provide appropriate support.
